A day at the centre

Learn what a typical day with us might look like

Arriving at the centre Members of Sudbury Neighbourhood Centre are welcomed to the centre at 9.30am with a cup of tea or coffee and a light snack; a relaxing way to start the day and an opportunity to socialise with other members and our staff and volunteers.

The morning session

We provide a number of personal and group activities which provide both physical and mental stimulation. Daily activities may include music therapy, chair yoga, and chair exercise to music.

A healthy and nutritious two-course meal is freshly prepared every day by our own chef and offers you a varied and interesting choice of meat, fish and vegetarian dishes, followed by a dessert. Our Chef can cater for Asian, West Indian, African and European food tastes as well as personal dietary requirements.

The afternoon session

After lunch, the care team will lead various activities ranging from a game of dominoes, karaoke, card bingo, one to one jigsaw puzzles and colour therapy.

Afternoon refreshments

Members are served a refreshing drink and a freshly prepared snack in the lounge area. A time to socialise and reflect on the day with staff and other members and start to wind down after the day’s activities. A day at the centre finishes at 2.30pm when members return home.
