Update from Neil

Neil White

It is lovely to be writing this in my office in the Centre listening to birdsong outside, and to see the new growth in our lovely garden, bringing a real sense of hope and new life as we welcome the coming of Spring.

After a very hard and difficult two years, it now feels that life is beginning to return to some semblance of normality with the re-opening of services, and lifting of Covid-19 restrictions. Although we still have to be careful and cautious, we can start to re-establish the services we provide at the Centre, and we are gradually putting together an exciting programme of activity classes and groups in the coming months.

We continue to provide full adult day care on Tuesdays and Thursdays each week from 9.30am – 2.30pm, and we are slowly but surely seeing a rise in demand for this specialist service. If you know anyone who may benefit from attending the day care services we provide, do get in touch and we look forward to hearing from you.

The major news is that we are launching an Over 50s Social Club, from the 27th April 2022, running every Wednesday at the Sudbury Neighbourhood Centre from 10.15am to 1.30pm. This is a free event and we will be offering a wide range of activities, games, advice and support, and a place to socialise and enjoy relaxing. There will also be light refreshments for purchase from our kitchen as well as free teas and coffees. We intend to restart the hairdressing, chiropody and ICT services in the coming weeks, so please continue to check with us on progress or visit the website for more information as and when it happens.

There are some future events in the offering too – an afternoon tea party on the 18th May from 2-4pm and our lovely annual Garden Party on the 23rd July 2022 from 11am – 3pm. We will also be restarting our ‘’Sudbury Active’ community keep-fit classes this Summer so watch out for announcements. If you would like to join our mailing list to receive news and updates on what is going on at Sudbury Neighbourhood Centre, please visit, telephone or email us.

We hope that many of you will be taking part in the events nationally and locally taking place to celebrate The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Year and we wish Her Majesty The Queen the best of health in her special year.
We are blessed by her shining
example to us all.
